While attending the University of Texas at San Antonio, Evan began working part-time at The Schrader Group. After graduating, he transitioned to a full-time role within our team. His daily exposure to the real estate industry provided invaluable experience, enabling him to adeptly handle various scenarios and situations. This hands-on experience, combined with his family’s deep-rooted history in real estate, led Evan to obtain his real estate license. Now actively practicing, Evan carries forward the knowledge and values instilled by his father, continuing the proud Balfour family legacy in the industry.
Growing Up in Real Estate
From an early age, Evan Balfour watched his father, Bruce Balfour, build a successful real estate career. In 1996, after purchasing his first home in New Orleans, Bruce decided to embark on a career in real estate. While still working in the restaurant industry, Bruce dedicated all his spare time to helping people buy and sell homes. It wasn’t long before he committed to being a full-time real estate agent. When Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005, the Balfour family was forced to evacuate their New Orleans home. The devastation left by the hurricane made returning impossible, prompting their relocation to San Antonio. There, Bruce continued to build his real estate career with The Schrader Group, marking a new chapter for the Balfour family.
