What may look like a simple Easter event on the surface is actually a thoughtfully designed experience that ensures every child can participate, engage, and feel included.
At The Schrader Group, we believe being part of the San Antonio community goes beyond real estate. It’s about showing up, giving back, and supporting organizations that make a meaningful impact. That’s why we were excited to help Vibrant Works, formerly Lighthouse for the Blind, prepare for their annual Beeping Easter Egg Hunt.

An inclusive event designed for blind or visually impaired children and their families, it was clear from the moment we arrived how much care and intention go into creating this experience. Instead of relying on sight, the eggs emit sound, allowing children to locate them through hearing. This creates a fun and accessible environment where every child can fully participate.
From filling eggs to preparing crafts, we were honored to play a small part in something so meaningful for our community. The event went beyond the egg hunt. Families also enjoyed arts and crafts, a petting zoo, games, popcorn and hot dogs, and photos with the Easter Bunny.
ABOUT VIBRANT WORKS

source: Vibrant Works
Vibrant Works, formerly Lighthouse for the Blind, has a long and impactful history here in San Antonio. Originally a small sewing plant on the south side, it has become one of the nation’s largest employers of individuals with vision loss. Today, they are also Texas’ largest manufacturer of U.S.-made military apparel.
Their mission is simple but powerful: to empower individuals who are blind or visually impaired to push past limitations, build independence, and exceed expectations.
Through a range of programs, Vibrant Works creates opportunities that support both independence and long-term success. Their manufacturing operations play a critical role in supporting U.S. military efforts. They produce high-quality apparel, helmet components, and essential goods that meet rigorous standards. Beyond manufacturing, they provide vocational training, technology education, and independent living services. This helps individuals develop the skills and confidence needed for everyday life. Through the AbilityOne Program, they also create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals who are blind or disabled, while supplying products to the federal government. Together, these efforts reflect a mission rooted in empowerment, capability, and long-term impact.
