2. SHOULD I LEASE OR BUY A HOME?

Depending on your timeline, financial situation, and future PCS moves, there are certainly pros and cons to each. Fortunately, here in San Antonio, there are great options for both short-term needs and long-term resale potential.

  • Leasing: Renting may be the best option if you want time to explore different neighborhoods before committing. We offer a Lease Buyout Program to help ease the transition to homeownership. Moreover, if you find a home while leasing, our team can review your terms and help mitigate some early termination costs.
  • Buying: If you’re planning to stay for several years, purchasing a home can be a great investment—especially with VA loan benefits that offer zero-down financing and competitive interest rates. That said, even if you anticipate another PCS within a few years, buying could still be a smart move. With San Antonio’s strong military presence, you could rent your home to other military families short- or long-term.
