April McChesney has always been a storyteller—first in front of the camera, and now behind it. With a degree in Cinema Production and over 12 years of experience, she brings a cinematic eye and creative precision to every project. After five years in Los Angeles producing, directing, and editing short films for festivals—and later creating cinematic wedding films—April now focuses her talents on real estate photography.
Her versatile Gemini nature blends creativity with technical skill, allowing her to capture homes in a way that’s both visually striking and emotionally engaging. In addition to photography, April creates immersive 3D Matterport tours, giving buyers around the world a virtual walk-through experience. She’s also a commercially licensed drone operator, capturing elevated aerial views that showcase properties from every angle.
With her keen eye for detail and a deep love for storytelling, April brings listings to life—on the ground, in the air, and online.
Personal Background
April is originally from Nebraska and moved to New York City after high school to study theater at the American Musical & Dramatic Academy. Her creative path led her to Seattle’s indie film scene, where she met her husband, and later to Los Angeles. When they were ready to start a family, the couple moved to Austin—her husband’s home state—before settling in the small town of San Marcos.
Now a homeschooling mom of two young daughters, April enjoys gardening, cooking, yoga, photography, and making design improvements to their home. She and her family love spending time at the river in San Marcos and embracing the outdoor lifestyle.
